What conditions does Dr. Schneider's chiropractic office commonly help patients with?
Chiropractic is primarily focused on health problems that are caused by "subluxations". Subluxations occur when spinal bones have "shifted out of place" due to abnormal stress or injury. This results in “ pressure" or "irritation" to the spinal nerves. Subluxations result in abnormal joint movement and stress, often causing spinal decay and degeneration.
Subluxations can also interfere with the flow of vital information needed by your internal organ systems. Physical injury, toxins (chemicals, pollution) or emotional stress can also trigger subluxations.
Subluxations may cause or contribute to any of the following symptoms:
| Headaches |
Blurry Vision |
Facial Numbness |
Tingling Hands/Fingers |
| Swollen Hands |
Arm Weakness |
Difficulty Swallowing |
Anxiety/Stress Control |
| Chest Pressure |
Indigestion |
Acid Reflux/Heartburn |
abnormal blood sugar levels |
| Gas/Bloating |
Hemorrhoids |
Leg Tingling/Numbness |
Leg/Hip/Knee/Foot Pain |
| Dizziness |
Ear Ringing |
Shoulder Tension |
Coldness in Extremities |
| Weight Issues |
Asthma |

Do Chiropractors prescribe drugs or perform surgical procedures on their patients?
Chiropractic procedures do not include invasive procedures like surgery or medication. That is more aligned with medical treatment. Instead, we work in harmony with the body's own healing systems. That allows for optimal "natural" healing.
What if I am suffering with some of the above health problems, but don't have any back pain?
It is not uncommon for subluxations to be "pain free" in their early stages. If left untreated, more permanent damage can result, ultimately causing pain. Therefore, absence of pain does not mean there isn't a problem! A thorough exam will help to determine if you have subluxations and if they are contributing to your health problems.
By correcting subluxations, the functioning of your nervous system improves and your body starts the healing process. Many times conditions that seem unrelated to the spine will dramatically improve! (We have patient testimonials hanging on the walls of our office talking about these types of health changes.)
Please feel free to contact us for your free consultation if you are experiencing any health problems.
What if I'm pregnant?
Dr. Schneider has been taking care of patients with a variety of special needs throughout his career, including pregnant patients, with excellent results.
Pregnant patients receive specialized care using chiropractic tables that have been designed with the pregnant patient’s comfort in mind. Many times pregnant patients suffer needlessly with spinal pain, unaware that there is an effective program of care for them.
What if I have osteoporosis?
Senior citizens (or individual with "weaker" bones) are best served by a chiropractor that uses gentle procedures, like the activator method, and has a long record of caring for these types of cases. Dr. Schneider is completely comfortable caring for this type of patient.
What about my children?
The trauma of the birth process, childhood falls or pranks, and athletic injuries are a few great reasons to have your children checked…even if they are not complaining of pain! Keeping their spine aligned helps keep them healthy and “off-loads” the spinal stress from activity related injuries. The doctor has experience caring for children and is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Assoc.
What if I have been in an automobile accident?
If you or someone you know has been involved in an automobile accident (regardless how minor it may have seemed), please read our "auto accident" section for some important information.
What if I was in a job related accident?
If you have been injured at work, always get an accident report filled out and signed by your supervisor, the day it happens. Don't assume the injury will go away. It may be permanent. Documenting your injury will help to protect you. For more about your rights regarding job related injuries, contact the state workers compensation office or our office. Legal advice may be appropriate if your claim is being denied.
What happens on "typical" visits?
On each visit the patient is examined to determine if the spine is out of its normal alignment. Subluxated areas are gently re-aligned.
During the course of a patient's treatment, they will receive advice on how to safely perform their daily activities. Stretching/strengthening programs may be introduced as well as other forms of patients education. This allows the patient to learn how to take better care of their spine and prevent future problems. Knowledge is a powerful tool, and we encourage patients to learn all they can in order to maximize their recovery. |
